Hucknall Town 1-1 Holbrook St. Michaels

Not a lot to say about this CML South Division fixture - I suppose the only blessing is that even after Referee Paul Dixon added 10 minutes of stoppage time at the end of the second half, we were back home for a quarter to ten!

To say the game was poor is a bit of an understatement. The only time it got a little interesting was a 15 minute period in the middle of the second period - we had two goals, a couple of chances missed and one or two passes that actually found a team-mate...

Thanks go to Paul Stevenson for the team sheet

I know we should be grateful that the club is still alive, and well done to all concerned, but this game was hard work to watch.

H-T 0-0

Hucknall took the lead on 62 when JAKE THOMAS ran in and connected at close range with a superb Eugene Francis right wing cross.

Holbrook were on level terms just 10 minutes later. A quickly taken free-kick by Alex Statham caught Town keeper James Beddingham off guard, and when he spilled the ball to DAN SHARP, the big no. 10 blazed it home from just a few feet out. F-T 1-1

Overall a disappointing performance from both teams - and Referee Dixon didn't help - another over-fussy official who refused to let even the most innocuous challenges go unpunished.
