Lovely morning, nice setting. Nuthall should have won this top of the table clash, but were foiled by some excellent goalkeeping by James Johnson and some desperate last ditch defending.
TYRONE BURTON fired home the first goal for Nuthall after 5 minutes, but 6 minutes later Gedling's FELIX HOGG took full advantage of the home teams failure to clear, and prodded home from close range.
The second Gedling goal came from JAY KNIGHT on 44, the striker meeting Marek Vipond's superb free-kick with a bullet header that gave the home keeper no chance. H-T 1-2
Nuthall applied pressure right from the start of the second half, and had enough chances to win two games, but unfortunately failed to convert any of them. With 10 to play, Gedling front man BEN MIDDLETON drilled home from the corner of the box after he was picked out neatly by Luke Attenborough.
This didn't deter the home team though, and when JASON RIMMELL nodded home after Johnson had saved the initial effort, it was a bit "squeeky bum" for Gedling. Referee Liam Jones finally called time after playing three minutes of stoppages, much to Gedling's relief. They sit top of the table now, on the same points as Carlton Top Spot, but with three games in hand. F-T 2-3
