Nottm Forest Ladies 1-2 Stoke City Ladies

Venue: Hucknall Rolls Leisure Sports Complex, Watnall Road, Hucknall, Notts

Competition: F.A. Women's Premier League Northern Division

Scorers:
Forest - Kirsty Allen ( 84)
Stoke - Chantelle Gallagher (7, 33)

Kev managed to join me at the Rolls complex on a very breezy afternoon, and captured both the Stoke City goals on camera.  Sadly, the Forest goal was scored late on in proceedings and the camera had been put away....

Stoke on the attack

This was Forest's third home game in eight days, and the ladies certainly looked a little jaded. They were a goal behind after just 7 minutes had been played.

Stoke had pressed from the off,  and CHANTELLE GALLAGHER was quickest to the ball after it was played into the area - the striker stretching out a leg through a crowd of players to prod home.

It was GALLAGHER on the scoresheet again on 33, a direct free-kick curled superbly over Forest keeper Vanessa Kinnerley. H-T 0-2

Forest came out for the second period with a positive mind set, and went to work at trying to reduce the deficit.   It took the Reds until the 84th minute to register though, a terrific ball in from Andy Bell on the the right was collected neatly in front of goal by Amber Hughes. The Forest no. 11 laid the ball to KIRSTY ALLEN who fired home from 8 yards. Unfortunately it was too little, too late and the Reds suffered their second league defeat in four days. F-T 1-2
