Rainworth MW 0-1 Coalville Town

Venue: Kirklington Road, Rainworth, Nottinghamshire.

Scorer: Ben Saunders (78)

On my own again for this one - Kev is still taking care of Mrs "Daftlad" who is still convalescing after her recent surgery. I didn't pick up a team sheet - I think there were some available, but I couldn't be bothered to ask.

Not much to write about - both teams struggled with the fierce, driving wind. Town kicked with the wind in the first period, and tried long range shooting after failing to break down a stubborn Wrens defence early doors.

James Martin in the home goal handled any shots that were on target, but most of the efforts flew way over the Rainworth goal.

The only goal of the game came with 12 to play. After a Wrens'  attacking move broke down, Jordan Nadat found time and space on the right, and made a defence splitting pass straight into the path of Town striker BEN SAUNDERS, and the former Gedling Town player ran on and curled the ball low around Martin from just inside the penalty area. F-T 0-1

Referee Mr. David Sullivan - largely untroubled throughout the game. It was difficult at times to pick him out as he wore his standard all black combo, whilst Coalville were wearing black and white striped shirts (with all black backs), black shorts and socks. I'd have thought a change of colour would have been in order for the officials.
