Kirkby Town 3-1 Robin Hood FC

Venue: The Summit Centre, Kirkby-In-Ashfield, Notts.

Competition: Notts Sunday League Premier One.

Scorers:
Kirkby Town - Kristian Watson (20, 32) Nathan Watson (51)
Robin Hood - Danny Bingham (70)

Had to go to this game to catch up with Brian Dennett and hand over the £12 sponsorship money we had pledged - the Carlton Town Pool Marathon was completed last week - well done to everyone involved.

Kirkby supremo Andy Cruddace had prepared the pitch, and it has to be said that after the recent spell of crappy weather, the playing surface was superb.

Kirkby have now played 7 league games, winning them all and scoring 48 goals along the way, conceding just 12.

We had to wait until the 20th minute for the first goal, and inevitably it was one of the trio of Watson brothers who was on the mark. A neat through ball picked out KRISTIAN WATSON who controlled calmly before drilling the ball past the visiting keeper.

12 minutes later, it was KRISTIAN again who doubled the home teams lead, this time a simple tap in in front of goal after he was fed by brother Keiran. H-T 2-0

With just 6 minutes of the second half played, NATHAN WATSON increased Kirkby's lead even further, clipping home Kieran's cross.

The visitors never let their heads drop, and with the ever increasing wind behind their backs, began to take the ball to their opponents.

Robin Hood's attacking play was rewarded on 70 when DANNY BINGHAM  raced in and smashed the ball past Kirkby keeper Jason Fisher.

The home team managed to restrict the damage to just the one goal though and kept up their unbeaten league run. F-T 3-1
