Hucknall Rolls Leisure 1-1 Kimberley MW

Venue: Hucknall Rolls Royce, Watnall Road, Hucknall, Nottinghamshire.

Competition: NSL Senior Division

Scorers -
Rolls: Conn (42)
Welfare: Fisher (20)

This NLS Senior Division top v second game was re-arranged after the original encounter had to be abandoned due to floodlight failure back in December. I head counted 55 at that game - at this game the head count was 98!

The visitors were on top early doors, but found the Rolls defence a hard nut to crack.  As it happened, it was a mistake from Rolls keeper Jake Pearson on 20 minutes that gifted JAKE FISHER the opening goal. The stopper rushed out of his goal to try and intercept the ball, but never looked like getting to it before the Kimberley striker, and could only watch in despair as the ball was lifted over him and into the back of the net.

Referee Mick Leslie is one of the Counties top officials, but he had his work cut out as things started to get a bit lively on the pitch.  Plenty of bookings, a couple of scuffles to sort out and a sending off meant Mr. Leslie was kept busy throughout the game.

GREG CONN levelled the scores on 42, heading home from a free-kick fired into the 6 yard box. H-T 1-1

Spent the 1st half on my own, but joined Rob Hornby and Steve "Bank Manager" Reading for the second period.  Not seen Steve too often this season, but then again, our match tally has not been great...

There was not a lot of action to mention after the break - a bit of "handbags" near the dugouts, Kane Matthews receiving two yellows and a red late on, but apart from that .......................

Admission: £0
Programme: £0 ( thanks Rob!)
Head count: 98
